• The Market Square Garage (108 N. Fairfax Street) & Courthouse Square (111 S. Pitt Street) in Old Town Alexandria are just $2 all day on Saturdays and Sundays, $2 all evening for weekdays after 5 p.m., and $2 per hour or $8 all day on weekdays before 5 p.m.
Street parking spaces in Old Town are free after 7 p.m. and on Sundays and state holidays. In Carlyle, street spaces are free after 5 p.m. and on Saturdays, Sundays, and state holidays and Del Ray offers free parking!
Meters accept credit cards and coins.
• A receipt from a multi-space meter is good throughout the city at any other metered space while it still has time remaining.
• Leave the meters behind: there are plenty of free two- and three-hour spots just a block or two off of King Street (north of Cameron Street or south of Duke Street)
Handicapped parking is free for up to four hours at single- and multi-space meters. In addition, individuals with a handicapped license plate or hangtag can park more than twice the time posted on signs in time-restricted parking zones.
Public Transportation
The closest metro stop is the King Street Metro Station on the Blue and Yellow lines.

The King Street Trolley runs every 15 minutes (depending on traffic conditions) from the corner of King and Union Streets to King Street metro. It will run until 1:00 am on January 1, 2014.
Additionally, there will be a continuous trolley running from the King Street metro to First Night headquarters at the Durant Arts Center and then to the Masonic Memorial. This shuttle will run from 7:00 pm until midnight.
